Every single color in the spectrum vibrates to a particular frequency. Every hue, every shade, even every combination of colors, resonates to its own vibratory rate. “Each color, though a component of white light, is seen separately because of its unique frequency.” (Biology of Belief, Lipton, Hay House, 2008)
There will be times in your life when you are attracted to one or two specific colors, and you will probably gear many aspects of your life around those particular shades, from your clothes and your car, to even the wallpaper and bed linens you choose. You will come to see that those things that fill the spaces of your earthly existence will harmonize or blend with that which constitutes your own makeup---and that includes your frequency.
The colors of your clothes, as well as the colors of the rooms in which you live, work and relax, all play an essential role in influencing what kind of frequency you are attuned to, at that time. You yourself can often determine what energies your psyche is actually working with by observing the colors that attract you, either on a daily basis or during a particular period in your life. When you note that your likes and dislikes of certain colors have changed over a period of time, a subtle Cosmic message is letting you know that your frequency has, in fact, shifted. It usually means that a different “part of you” requires attention, as your spiritual unfolding continues.
Whether you consciously put effort into raising your frequency or not, these shifts in your tastes surface as a means of propelling you toward a more expanding Life experience. The colors that you are drawn to, at any particular time in your life, indicate---by their very frequency---what energies are influencing your life, and how.
Shifts in Color, Shifts in Frequency
By consciously changing a color that you have customarily been using---that's of a not-so-high frequency (such as brown or gray)---to a different color of a higher vibration (such as blue or green), a change, however subtle, is bound to make its way into your sphere. When you are aware of the colors that you routinely choose, and for whatever purposes, your conscious involvement in the process heightens the frequency of the after-effect of your choice. When we step in and make a decisive move toward advancing our progress, it is like a tailwind that makes our spiritual journey that much easier and quicker.
Never wear colors that you don't like, even if you think that you need them in order to make yourself feel better or to raise your frequency; they might not, because your intuition (your higher knowing) will not have drawn you to them. For example, don’t decorate your house in purple only because it is of a high frequency; you must be satisfied and comfortable with the color. We are often not drawn to certain colors because they may actually not be right for us at that point in our lives. Choose colors that you like and that have potential life-enhancing properties.
You may not want or need to change your colors at all. At some point, though, you will arrive at periods in your life that will serve as signposts---energies that aim you in a different direction. With this new direction, a color shift may also be in the works. You may have always hated the color orange. Now, after many years, you find yourself very much attracted to it. Your eye always catches orange sweaters and shirts, and maybe even orange socks, all of which seem to momentarily lift you. You like them, you want them, you buy them. And then, you might wonder, “But I hate the color orange---or…I used to.” Move forward with this new direction of your taste in color. Regard it as a banner signaling the entry of new vibrations into your life---new experiences, people or opportunities for your further development. On a subtler level, though your consciousness has probably shifted, you may not see any outward indications to that effect for some time. Nevertheless, your Higher Self is communicating with you, letting you know that you are moving onward and upward.
Don’t wear or use any color just because it suits others, but not you. The real you knows that any particular color you may gravitate to brings with it the frequency to which you now need to resonate, for whatever reason. If you have been wearing or surrounding yourself with green, yet you no longer gravitate to that color, then green has served its purpose, and it is now time to dance to a different tune, to hum to a new harmony, to whirl, twirl and swirl at a new, vibrant frequency!
So many people make the mistake of conforming to what they have been doing for years, without letting any new energy into their lives---including color. They feel that since this is the color they have been wearing or decorating with for the past thirty years, this is the color for them. That may be true; but in order to continue growing and developing, we need to incorporate new frequencies into our lives when they call on us. If you feel the need to change an area of your life, do it…and include color as part of the change. Just make sure that it's a color you like and feel comfortable with.
If you are under the weather, depressed or angry, certain colors can contribute an energy-raising effect that will improve your condition or mood. The color red gives vitality and strength, so it’s a good color to surround yourself with if you are feeling lethargic or physically weak. However, red is not a good color to use or wear if you are angry or anxious, as its highly energizing properties will only exacerbate your condition; also stay away from red if you are bleeding. For anger or anxiety, seek lavender or light blue to calm your nerves. If you are feeling hatred or animosity, wear pink. The color pink is associated with love, sweetness and gentleness.
When feeling vulnerable or lacking in self-confidence, bright yellow will give you an ego boost. The color orange is excellent for creativity, as well as for enriching one’s sexual experience. To attract some excitement into your life, wear orange! Green often promotes healing. Put something green on areas that hurt: For example, if your throat hurts, try wearing a green turtle neck or scarf around your neck. Eat green foods, such as onions, chard or lettuce. You might want to even try being around green plants. There's no guarantee for any of those options, but it might be worth a try. It has worked for me.
Color is another one of Life’s ways of showing and teaching us what works and what does not---what is essentially good for us and what is not. You can raise your frequency spontaneously by paying attention to those particular colors that you know resonate with your energy.
You can learn a lot about yourself and where your current focus lies by paying attention to the colors that turn you on and those that turn you off. Your true colors will always shine through.
